WPS MedicareRx Plan earns 4.5-star rating. It is the highest-rated stand-alone Medicare Part D plan in Wisconsin

MADISON, Wis.—October 22, 2018—WPS MedicareRx Plan is the highest-rated stand-alone Medicare Part D plan in Wisconsin, and the only plan in the state to earn 4.5 stars out of 5, according to the 2019 ratings recently announced by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS).

“Earning a star rating that places us among the highest-rated plans in Wisconsin is wonderful news. I want to congratulate everyone who has been involved in keeping our PDP operating at such a high standard of quality and compliance. I’m so proud of the work we do together.”

Bridgett Boucher, Vice President, WPS Medicare Market Solutions.

WPS is the only not-for-profit, stand-alone Medicare Part D plan provider in Wisconsin, serving more than 17,000 customers.

How CMS develops ratings

The ratings take into consideration such factors as:

  • Customer service
  • Customer complaints and Medicare audit findings
  • Customer experience with drug plan
  • Drug pricing and patient safety

Information for the ratings comes from customer surveys, reviews of billing, and other information that plans submit to Medicare, and from Medicare's regular monitoring activities. Part D plans help cover the cost of prescription medications for Medicare enrollees.

CMS rates health and drug plans annually to ensure they meet Medicare's quality standards and encourages Medicare beneficiaries to compare and choose plans based on these ratings.
