Frank Gumina joined WPS in August 2018 as Chief Legal Officer. In 2019, he was elected WPS Corporate Secretary and gained responsibility for providing corporate governance advice to the WPS Board of Directors and its subsidiary boards.
Prior to joining WPS, Frank worked in the private practice of law for more than 27 years, serving corporate clients in a vast array of legal matters, with particular focus in the health care market. For a number of years, Frank held an executive management position in one of Wisconsin’s largest law firms and, prior to joining WPS, was a partner in an AmLaw 100 firm with offices spanning across the country.
During his time in private practice, Frank tried cases in numerous federal and state courts, including co-chairing the defense of the first jury trial in the United States under the Americans with Disabilities Act. Frank also has represented companies before numerous federal and state agencies and regularly assisted companies with complex legal matters.
Frank serves on the Board of Directors for Tomorrow’s Children, a Wisconsin-based residential care center for children. He is also a member of the American Health Lawyers Association, Defense Research Institute, Society for Human Resources Management, and State Bar of Wisconsin (Health Law and Labor/Employment Sections).
Away from the practice of law, Frank enjoys cooking, hiking with his dog, mentoring young professionals and, most of all, spending time with his family and friends.
