MADISON, Wis.—Nov. 17, 2023—On Nov. 7, Wisconsin Gov. Tony Evers announced the 2023 winners of the Vets Ready Employer Initiative. WPS Health Solutions was awarded a Gold Certification in the large employer category.
WPS Military Affairs Manager Tim La Sage accepted the award on behalf of WPS. The Department of Workforce Development and its Office of Veteran Employment Services presented a total of 17 awards to organizations from across Wisconsin.
“It’s wonderful to be recognized at a state level for our efforts in making WPS an easy company for veterans to join,” WPS Military Affairs Manager Tim La Sage said. “Veterans have leadership skills that can help us achieve our goals and advance the work we do for the beneficiaries and customers we serve. At WPS, we have an employee resource group for veterans called the Veterans Enhancement Team, or VET Group. It gives those who served a place to connect with others like them at work. It’s really a supportive culture.”
The Vets Ready Employer Initiative encourages employers to build a support system within their workplace, hire and retain more veterans, and connect to veterans in the community and in their families. For a list of all the winners, see the official news release.
